We wouldn’t call our 14th graduating quarter superstitious… but maybe they are a little stitious. Can ya blame ‘em, though? A year and a half at portfolio school definitely comes with its fair share of anxiety. Am I good enough? Can I be consistently creative each week? Will I get a job? So did they drink themselves under the table from all their overthinking? Did they sit around and mope like a bunch of hapless schlimazels? Come on, you know how this ends. With a little muscle, elbow grease, and even some light welding, they faced their fears head on and gutted out some of our best campaigns to date. Now that’s how you make your own luck.

Our 13th graduating quarter definitely does. When you like who you’re working with and you’re loose and you’re silly, you’re gonna have fun. And when you’re having fun it should be no surprise that the work you’re making will be fun, too. This group reminded us week in, week out why we do what we do here at DAD, and for that we’ll always remember them. Mark Twain once said that if you enjoy what you do for a living then you’ll never have to work a day in your life… so we wish our Q13 a long and happy career of not working.

Potential is an easy thing to waste. It’s a certain brand of destiny that’s hoisted upon you, but after it feeds your ego it leaves you with the heavy weight of expectation. Because in the end it’s on you, and solely you, to follow through on their expectations. To either turn that potential into something great or disappoint everyone who had the audacity to believe in you. As you can guess, our 12th graduating quarter came in with a lot of potential. They had the raw talent, the drive to succeed, and our expectations were high from the jump. And in the end they took the presumptive praise that fell into their laps and followed through with a finish that’s all theirs to enjoy.
